April and Kyle got married at The Farm at South Mountain wedding this past weekend in Phoenix, Arizona.
April had always dreamed of having her wedding at my grandfather’s house. He and his family grew up there and she spent a lot of her childhood there. There were always people coming and going and there was always music playing. They always called it ‘the farm’ growing up so when she found The Farm at South Mountain here in Arizona, she thought it was meant to be! Then she knew she was right when they searched a bunch of other venues and it was the only one that had a date in the timeframe they wanted! Meant to be!
They have probably one of my favorite proposal stories because of how ‘real life’ it is – especially when you’ve been in a relationship for a long time like April and Kyle. They had already been talking about marriage for a while and knew that is where they were headed and so Kyle decided it ask April what kind of ring she would want. She wasn’t exactly sure so did some research and came back to show Kyle what she liked and he kind of put her off, which irritated April. He then left the room and came back with the ring and said that is why he didn’t want to look at the rings, as he was handing her a ring box. Then he asked her to marry him! April said “It may not seem romantic, but to me it was perfect. We are both very stubborn (we’re both Taurus’) so to me I couldn’t see it happening any other way.”
Despite being Taurus’, these two are one of the most laidback couples I’ve ever met (in all the best ways) and their day totally reflected that.
The day started unseasonably warm, but they and their awesome bridal party were all troopers! The weather did a totally 180, because the reception was down right cold! But it encouraged dancing, drinking, and cuddling around the fire pits!
April & Kyle – thank you so much for letting Dustin and I be a part of such a fun wedding day and the perfect cap to our 2017 season! I hope you have such an amazing and relaxing time on your honeymoon in a couple weeks, it’s well deserved!
